After meeting at the entrance gate of Kuşadası Ege Ports at 08:00 in the morning, we set off for Kuşadası to go to Samos, the 9th largest island of Greece, famous for its wine, forests and turquoise beaches, the hometown of famous philosophers of antiquity such as Pythagoras and Epicurus.
After we have our passport controls done at Kuşadası Port ( Ege Ports ), we start a pleasant sea voyage that lasts for about an hour. When we reach the capital Vathy, which is built around a bay in the shape of a horseshoe, we complete our customs procedures and explore the capital Vathy, which is home to many monumental buildings. In Vathy, we first get to know the buildings on the promenade bearing the name of Sofouli. The first of these is the only Catholic Church on the island called Santa Maria. Later, we see the Samos Courthouse, which serves in Neoclassical buildings, and the Samos Public Library, which has books from the 16th century in its collection. Then we continue walking towards Pythagore ( Center ) Square, located in the heart of the capital Vathy.
We get information from our guide about the marble Lion Statue, the symbol of independence, located in the Square. After the souvenir photos we took in the square, we photograph the National Bank of Greece, which brings all the beauties of Neoclassical architecture to life, and proceed towards Themistoklis Sofoulis Square. In the square, we see the statue of Themistokles Sofoulis, who served as the prime minister of Greece for three terms and also gave great effort to Samos archeology. Towards noon, we continue our tour towards Koumaradaioi, a mountain village adorned with red pine and mountain strawberries. In this lush village of the island, we visit a workshop where the famous Pythagorean cups of Samos are made and watch the making of this mathematical cup, also known as the “cup of justice”.
After moments of pleasure, we continue our trip to Pythagorion, the hometown of the famous mathematician Pythagoras, which has the most beautiful beaches of the Aegean Sea. During our journey, we see the archaeological artifacts of Ancient Samos that one of the 12 Ionian cities, the Eupalinos Tunnel and the Lykourgos Logothetis Castle in panoramic view. Afterwards, we visit a beautiful beach restaurant for lunch on the Pythagorion. During the lunch break, our guests can enjoy the sea and the sun and swim in the clean waters of Pythagorion.
